Never had to return something and Waterdrop made it as easy as one could expect. I’ve been using their shower filters for my old Hahn shower head filter for years and they’ve always worked great. I live alone and easily get 6-8 months use out of them. I ordered a two pack and the first one had maybe 1/3 the water pressure as normal. Thinking it would loosen up, I waited a day and the next time it was even less. I called their customer service number and the rep took all my info and simply sent out a new filter. Couldn’t ask for better service. They have a loyal customer with me.

It was very easy to replace the cartridge. It would be nice if they included a couple silicone grease packets for the o-ring, but I’m a plumber so I had some on hand already. Its a handy grease to have around the house so I recommend people have some on hand anyway!

After one shower the water pressure for both of these filters decreased so much that I couldn’t even take a shower with it. With the first filter I didn’t realize it was the filter and thought there was something wrong with my water pressure tank. Very upset that both filters did the same thing and I only got one shower with okay water pressure out of both and I didn’t realize it was the filter until after I couldn’t return it anymore.

When I replaced the Aquasana water filter with this one, there was leaking around the edges of the outer seal (water intake to filter). I also noticed that the washer for the inner seal was about half as thick as the Aquasana filter. If there were a leak here, I wouldn’t know it because it goes from the filter to the shower head.
I put teflon plumbers tape around both the outer screws and the inner washer several times and screwed it together again. It did not leak and worked as advertised.
In sum, you can make it work, but don’t expect it to work out of the box.
Note: as with any carbon filter, there will be carbon coming out of it. Because my shower head is at the end of a hose, I could direct the water with carbon at the drain to prevent coating the shower walls.
