I installed my filters after priming them as usual and with my Berkey accessories that make it super easy to attach to the faucet. The water bubbled up from the outside, flowed out, and ran clear quickly. After installed and doing a test run the water that came “filtered” through my system is not actually filtered and is even slightly higher in both TDS (ppm)= weight of dissolved solids and EC=conduction current, compared to the water straight from my tap. That is hard water levels or a bit higher. Ideal drinking water is 0-50 TDS and my distilled 5 gallon water jug at home reads 28 in comparison. Sooo … very disappointed to say the least. I gave 2 stars only because I just reached out to customer service this evening, on a Saturday through email and hope to come to some kind of resolution here and hopefully up this rating if they have filters that will work. If not I have to rush a return to waterdropoutlet.com to not lose quite a chunk of money and change this to 1 star, find a better brand or back to Berkey filters. I know people say you get what you pay for but jeez I honestly expected at least some filtration from these, researched, and read reviews. People must have no idea what kind of water is coming out of these.

The spigot fit my Berkey Royal water system and doesn’t leak. There is a red ball in the sight tube that helps me to see the water level (nice touch). The flow from the valve is much higher than the original. It looks very professional too.

I love this gravity fed water filter system. Water tastes so much better. I use it for coffee, for cooking and anything I need water for. Know that you are supposed to take the system apart and clean once a month per instructions. I don’t have the spigot that tells you the water level. Will get that eventually. The water flow is fabulous. I have a friend who bought one from another maker then water drop and it takes all night to flow to the bottom. The price of this versus the big name one is pronounced. Well built and wouldn’t buy anything else if I need another one!!!

I’ll qualify this review by saying that I purchased these filters as a short-term solution while I wait for my reverse osmosis filter to be installed in my kitchen. I chose these as they were half the price of the other reputable option for black Berkey filters. They are made in China if that’s important to you. The filters are about half the weight of the Black Berkey filters. The stems on the filters are curved at the very base and the plasticized (not rubber) washers that are included don’t seem to sit flush, but I did not notice leakage once tightened into my Big Berkey. They primed easily and passed the red dye test. The water flows through the filters very quickly into the reservoir unlike the Black Berkey filters which are more of a drip or trickle. It took a mere 9 minutes to filter about half of the upper reservoir and now it has slowed to a trickle. At the point of my last photo, I hear almost nothing filtering through and that’s with the water level at the bottom 1/3 of the filters. The water does NOT taste or smell like chlorine. I have used my Big Berkey with the Black Berkey filters for 3 years and have not had to replace them until now when one of them failed the red dye test. If I were going to continue to use this method of water filtration, I would invest in the more expensive filters made by Boroux.

I have the Berkey filter and have now also tried this one. I am satisfied, it is much cheaper and has the same good quality as the original. However, it is important to activate the filters properly (It takes more time than the originals take, even if the water is clear I would keep to the specified rinse time). If your water tastes bad, the filters (black and fluoride) have not been cleaned properly!!!

These ones are much, much better than the last set I bought. This set filters the water quite quickly almosr right down to the bottom of the filter.
Here’s the description below of the last set I boguth which I strongly suggest do not buy. I wanted to rate them as minus 1. I had to clean them every few days just to try and get water to filter through.

We have a Waterdrop gravity filter and this stand allows the water filter to sit at the rear right corner of our sink and be perfectly high enough to allow us to use the counterspace underneath AND also comfortably dispense water into tall cups. The little rubber feet can easily come off if you push the filter stand while the water filter is full … but they’re easily slipped back on. No complaints – it works well as designed with the Waterdrop water filter.
