   I want to give these a 5 star rating because of the ease of installation and that they do make my well water better after passing through my old pipes, but I don’t really know how the water gets filtered. The inlet and outlet are at the top and when I blow through without the filter attached the air passes straight through. Therefore, I assume a lot of the water isn’t filtered and only the water sitting in the filter that gets pushed out is filtered. A photo of video explaining how that top part can direct the inlet water through the filter before sending it to the outlet would be nice. Inquiring minds want to know. Maybe when the filter is connected the inlet can only fill the filter but then you have outgoing water fighting the incoming water. I’m so confused.

   Due to a nonstandard installation (not under the sink), I had several questions concerning the fitting specifications. Contacting the Waterdrop customer service was easy, fast turnaround, and I got all my questions answered. Further, Carini, the Waterdrop Customer Service Rep followed up several days later inquiring if the information given solved my issues. I sent her a picture of the install as done. One of the best customer service experiences I’ve had from a waterdropoutlet.com supplier. As for the product, I couldn’t be more pleased with the performance so far. My installation was bypassing a refrigerator filter and installing the Waterdrop filter in- line on a dedicated waterline from a Manabloc pex manifold. I ended up using 1/4″ push to connect lines directly in and out of the filter and tied into the pex lines with crimp x 1/4″ compression quarter turn valves. Refrigerator filters are rated at 200 gallons. The Waterdrop filters are rated at 8,000 and cost about 1/2 of the 200 gallon fridg filters. No brainer, eh? UPDATE 12/29/2024 So I ran into the problem within a month of water flow ever decreasing . Convinced it was a filter or filter head problem, I again contacted Waterdrop Customer Service. The service agent, Kayla, was quick to acknowledge the problem and expedited a replacement filter head. I installed, but it did not solve the problem. Upon letting Kayla know and my suggestion that it could be a filter cartridge problem, a replacement filter was delivered as well. Unfortunately it did not solve the problem. Very frustrating but Kayla, did not stop with that but came up with several other suggestions including testing the water pressure. In short the water pressure coming in and out of the filter was more than adequate, 50-6- PSI. It turns out, the problem was the original refrigerator filter by-pass was malfunctioning causing the dispenser to tricklewater . My point is not explaining all the technical stuff, but how Waterdrop helped me solve a problem that ,it turns out, wasn’t theirs. Over a two week period, Kayla was following up regularly, coming up with ideas and eventually put me on track. I wrote in the above review how I was impressed I was with this company’s passion for good customer service and it has been reinforced by Kayla’s actions once again. IMO, not too many companies today that offer this level of service.

   After years of a faucet screw on filter, This easy install under sink filter With just two connections needed, is a joy. The yearly cost would be a little higher but they build 80 to use parts off of water for things like pasta cooking and French fish poaching is freeing. You also have this little knob at the end of the faucet that gets in the way. The cost per year is a little higher, but it’s a great trade off.

   Purchased this because I like the waterdrop fridge replacement filters. This seemed like a nice way to get filtered water in my salad sink in the kitchen (second sink). It worked great for about 3 months then the water stopped running. I figured the filter was bad so ordered a second filter.. Worked for about 3-4 months and then again stopped. I emailed customer support who wrote a beautiful AI generated reply and eventually they blamed it on my water source. Note I live in the PNW and have soft water from a municipal water supply. I’m only using the filter to remove the chorine, not to filter sediment. These filters, while rated for 10,000 gallons / 1 year, only work for a few months with minimal usage. Waterdrop support hasn’t been helpful and is asking me to find a third party water testing company and send a water quality report (on my dime). The report costs more than this whole filter system. Most likely will remove this system and go with a better quality filtration system.

   Update 6/25: The contacted me and offered to send an upgraded model with a few free filters. This instantly fixed my issue so I have updated my review.

    I wanted to replace my old under sink filter (GS1X01SR) with one that didn’t need a flimsy plastic wrench and application of silicon grease to the o-ring. I wanted a quarter turn type like my refrigerator has. This one looked like it would foot the bill, and it does, kinda. The main issue I have with it is the claims it only takes a few minutes to install. Sure. My water faucet has a 1/4″ compresson threaded rod to connect to the water supply. This filter comes with a male 3/8″ compression fitting (see photo). I purchased a one-foot-long hose with 3/8″ female compression fittings on each end from Ferguson’s Plumbing (Tucson). I also purchased a 12″ ice maker hose from ACE Hardware (4334637) with female 1/4″ compression fittings on each end and a 3/8″ ID x 1/4″ ID Union (4016988). These three extras allowed me to connect the output of the filter to my existing faucet. Total additional cost: about $25. The advertisement shows an image that implies you can just hook the output hose to your faucet. It won’t work even with the manufacturer’s faucet (which has a 1/4″ compression connection)! The good news is it is installed and there don’t appear to be any leaks (I’ll leave the cabinet empty overnight to make sure). Other issues: (1) I used the screw template – still ended up filing the mounting slots with a round file. (2) When I inserted the filter end of the output hose, it would not go in to where there was only a 1/8″ gap between it and the filter housing. I had to remove it and fiddle with it a bit to get it aligned, inserted and seated properly. I expect I will be satisfied with this filter in the long run, but I’m chafing a bit today for all the running around to plumbing suppliers (Fergusons), Home Depot, and two Ace Hardwares

    Installation was very straightforward—took less than 30 minutes. Just note that you’ll need a wrench, which wasn’t included. Water flow is still strong after installation. My wife says she can tell a difference in taste and smell, though I didn’t personally notice much. Still, for peace of mind with PFAS and other contaminants, it’s a good value. Would recommend.

    Super easy to install, I’m not pro. However, at first I didn’t have the correct attachment from out the filter to the faucet, I reached out to their customer service and they went above and beyond in helping me. They sent the correct attachment I needed and I got the filter up and running! Shoutout to Rebecca for helping me with that.

    The filter itself is great, there was a slight chlorine taste before thats not present at all now. Before, I used a Breta sink attachment, and it had all sorts of problems and needed to be replaced regularly. I like that this only needs to be changed every year, way less stress. Overall one of my best purchases lately.
