Not an active filter but a passive one. The battery is only for the water detection sensor and to keep track of the life of the filter but there is no internal pump or anything to help the water pressure.
It’s okay as a post-filter to an actual water filter system that has a water pump to push the water through this one. But you can also use it as a pre-filter to your main water filter to extend the life of that if you want. I think water pressure overall will suffer if your initial pressure is not great to begin with.
The build quality is rather cheap, at least it feels very cheap. But no leaks so far on my unit.

We have not installed this water filter yet, so I cannot review functionality yet. We have new granite countertops going in soon, so I am glad to have this already for positioning of the hole. The product looks to be good quality. I like the brushed nickle faucet it is heavy if that is any indication of quality. The instructions are well written for a product made in China and I noticed there is a QR code on the box for watching an installation video. I will update this post after it has been in use. The price seems fair for a product that will most likely be used every day.
