I decided to try a Waterdrop filter in 2020. Since buying my LG refrigerator in 2008, this was the first time I had tried an non-OEM filter. Unfortunately, the Waterdrop filter got stuck, and after trying every suggestion I found on the Internet, it stayed stuck. Never had a problem with about 2 dozen LG OEM filters over 12 years. What do you see in the photo for this review? That’s my LG refrigerator in the background, works absolutely great. You also see the Waterdrop filter. The thing on top of the Waterdrop filter is the LG filter head assembly that I had to remove and replace. By the way, the Waterdrop filter is still absolutely stuck, so all of it will go into the trash after I finish this review. I suggest you may not want to go through a similar experience to mine. – Plumbers, if they can even find the part (my filter head assembly is discontinued by LG), may charge you enough to where you decide to put the money towards a new refrigerator. – If you can repair it yourself, then finding a discontinued part and instructions on how to install it is not an easy and enjoyable experience. Since I really like my LG refrigerator and want to be able to replace my filters, I fixed it. And yes, it now has an OEM filter in it. By the way, since these reviews don’t have a “easy to uninstall” rating, I rated “easy to install” one star.

I have an LG fridge and the water dispenser never seemed quite right for the past few years. My water tasted “stale” if that makes any sense. I bought an OEM LG filter a few months ago and never noticed much improvement so I was ready to give up on it, but then I saw the reviews and price for this Waterdrop filter and decided to try one last time. My water now tastes great. We have been buying cases of bottled water for a few years and I notice no difference now between bottles of Costco, Great Value, Crystal Geyser, (or any other brand for that matter) and this Waterdrop filter. I will definitely be purchasing these from now on.

We just moved into a new home and are now on well water. The water is hard with a strong iron taste. Not wanting to spend much, I figured I’d give one of these a try. It fits perfectly in our fridge (Kenmore model 795.79302.900). I was pleasantly surprised to find an improvement in taste. (I blind tested it and the water run through the filter tasted noticeably better.) I would be surprised if it does much for the safety of water, but I can confidently say it improved taste. Pros: Low Price Improves Taste Easy install Cons: Needs to be replaced every 6 months (not too bad, I’d say!)

Ordered based on the excellent average ratings and stellar reviews but no matter how many gallons of water I run through, the water quality consistently equals my tap water quality at 300-320 ppm range which is marginally acceptable = average tap water quality. While I was not expecting my reverse osmosis quality at 10-20 ppm, I was hoping for a general range of 50-200. Considering returning at this point.

Our Samsung refrigerator lives on, so I still have to replace the water filter. Because it is an older fridge, the big box stores no longer carry this filter (I used to purchase in a two-pack). So I found this one brand, and the flavor of the water and ice taste great. I even have a water softener/conditioner but still wanted to filter the water for drinking and ice. This brand is better than ALL the other ones I’ve purchased over the years. I will purchase again if I fridge lives another six months.
