- ⚠️ This filter is replacement for GE RPWF, but NOT model RPWFE. ⚠️ New model: New optimization for connector, easier to install and more compatible.
- [Authoritative Certifications] Dedicated to providing pure and healthy drinking water, Waterdrop, a world-famous water purification brand, has been trusted by over 6 million American families. Waterdrop’s high-quality replacement filters, from every component to the whole filter, have been certified by NSF and IAPMO against NSF/ANSI 401, 53, 42 and 372 standards for effective reduction of 35 substances, ensuring high-quality drinking water.
- [Comprehensive Certifications] This filter has been strictly certified against NSF/ANSI 401 for reduction of 99.2% of bisphenol A, phenytoin, estrone and naproxen and against NSF/ANSI 53 for reduction of 99.6% of lead, 96.6% of benzene and 92.3% of mercury. It is certified by IAPMO for reduction of 20 harmful substances like 99.59% of ethylbenzene, over 99% of trimethoprim, 2,4 D, Lindane, MTBE and atrazine. Furthermore, it can reduce PFOA and PFOS according to testing.
- [Deep filtration] Waterdrop’s refrigerator filters significantly reduce the levels of many different harmful substances in your water, including a 95.3% reduction in PFOA and PFOS tested by the third-party laboratory. Moreover, the filter additionally allows through many of the beneficial minerals in water that are essential for health.
- [Fast water flow, no leaks] Our mission is to supply refrigerator water filters that fit perfectly, impeccably engineered; this sets us apart from inferior models of replacement filters that can frequently result in water leakage problems. The microscopic pore sizes in our filter cartridges, made of superior materials, allow for smooth running, crisp, pure water.
- [Carefully chosen materials] Waterdrop uses coconut shell carbon blocks supplied from Sri Lanka that have enlarged surface area and more micropores than inferior carbon blocks. The filter cartridge is far more effective in reducing levels of chlorine, dirt, sediment, rust, and a wide range of heavy metals. In line with our high level of attention to detail, we have chosen a BPA-free and food-grade housing for the filter that exceeds the NSF 372 certification for lead-free filtration.
- [Regular filter changes] If you run replacement filter past the recommended date, pollutants could accumulate and filtration performance could suffer. Because of this, we supply a complimentary set of installation stickers with every filter so that you can see at a glance when it needs replacing. We recommend that you should replace your filter after it has been used for 4800 cups of water (300 gallons) or 6 months (this may vary dependent on the water condition in your area).

I decided I didn’t like the filters with the chips so I went on YouTube to find a hack. Lo and behold, there is a great hack that takes a little time to do, but once done and you install a permanent “bypass chip” in the location inside the filter holder, you can use these less expensive filters.
Note: If you choose to do this hack, your refrigerator water dispenser will show “no filter” but you will know you have a filter. 😉
There is an additional hack that I did, where you remove the board (yes, a little more work, but only have to do it once) and put black electrical tape over the light that displays the “no filter” image. All of this information is free to find online and will save tons of money on those expensive chip type filters. I highly recommend this product.

I use these on my GE that is supposed to have the electronic version. But I refuse to pay the insanely high price to have the electronic ship. To get it to work, using a dremel tool, I cut out an electronic chip from the original filter and tape it on these filters. It works but immediately begins to dhow on the fridge that it’s beyond its life. I just replace every few months or when the water coming out starts to really slow down

Reviewing after 1 year. Works great. The NSF 53 adds filtration level to my whole-house NSF 42 filter.
This RPWF has same dimension as RPWFE, with the only difference being lack of the RFID tag. Whose only purpose is starting a timer and prompting warning message on the display unit. I followed instruction in the top-rated 1-star review found under authentic GE RPWFE filter (unfortunately waterdropoutlet.com sunk that review to bottom as it does not help their money-grab business) Basically I glued the factory Bypass RFID tag over the reader, dissembled display unit and used black tape to cover the humiliation. It was a one-time 30 min job. If your display unit is a color, “smart” screen, then this mod cannot be done. You can still use it and get same water, if you don’t mind the on-screen humiliation.

Perfect for my GE refrigerator, why buy the crazy expensive ones when these do the same job.

See you tube videos on how to by- pass the sensor on your refrigerator so you don’t have to buy these crazy expensive proprietary filters. Never would have bought this refrigerator if I knew I had to feed it these crazy expensive filters. Cheaper filters available you just need to by pass the sensor.

Water is great. Make sure to keep cut out the RFID tag on you water bypass filter, and tape it to the sensor on the fridge if you have a new fridge.
