    I compared this filter directly against a new OEM cartridge. I wasn’t able to measure water quality but I did check total dissolved solids. The incoming tap water measured 150ppm TDS. The OEM filter which was overdue for replacement was reducing the TDS to under 100ppm. This replacement cartridge did not reduce TDS and the reading was 150ppm, the same as the incoming tap water. The seller does not claim it reduces TDS, just be aware that compared to the OEM filter, it will not reduce TDS. The housing and connection end of the filter are slightly less robust (thinner o-rings) but it attached correctly and there are no leaks. The water is very clear and tastes clean. A less expensive option than OEM cartridges.

    these filters work well except I had one that would not work properly . not sure if it was faulty. After replacing as I did the others it would dispense water then it would say that the filter need to be changed and turns off water dispensing

    This filter is not compatible with GE model #GFE28GYNJFS. The RFID supposedly included to reset the water filter replacement alert does not work. I am not sure why the product description says you can reset the water filter alert by pushing the “water” button for three seconds, this is not true. Can no longer use my water dispenser with this filter and will need to buy a replacement.

    Unfortunately I had high hopes this brand will work. I was completely wrong. The top is slightly larger that makes it useless. It will not engage or snap into place. I waited too long, otherwise I would have returned it. Please check the fit if you order and maybe you will be luckier than I. So disappointed 😞
