   I’ve used this whole house filter for many years. As such the O-rings that go on the blue canisters for the WD-WHF21-PG became stretched and made it difficult to reinstall the canister.This was not a defect, It’s been through use the O-ring stretched and makes it very difficult to put the canister back on.

   I contacted Olivia at Waterdrop to to determine the size of the O-ring so that I could buy a new one. After identifying the correct size she offered to send their replacement. I wanted to take the time to express my appreciation for the responsiveness and help from just sending Waterdrop an Email. Real customer support of a vanishing concept but not with Waterdrop and Olivia.

   So, a big thank you for the help.

   I have just installed this unit have not yet changed the cartridges. Will update later. Update…Have since changed filters many times. It’s a little difficult when changing to not spill some water. Overall I’m pleased with the function of these filters. Side note It’s a good idea to get a tube of silicone grease on hand it comes in handy when changing filters to keep rubber o rings soft. I stand by the 5 star rating.

   Quite a noticeable difference visually on the filter from my February to May change over(I did stretch out my change over). I’m glad to see it shows me that it is working. I can’t say I should blame the filter for not lasting longer, since it shows my well water is giving me some unique water to my place. I’ll definitely continue to use them, just wish the price was a bit on the lower side for my own personal sake.

   My well water has moderately high Manganese (Tested at 0.210 Mg/L). After one month of use, I do not believe it has significantly reduced the Mn . Still have evidence of staining which typically occurs at levels above 0.05, but have not had it re-tested. I do not have high iron or any other minerals/contaminants/odour/taste/discolouration, so I cannot comment on their effectiveness in that regard.
   Otherwise, the quality of construction and materials appears to be very good.

   To get it to work, you need to let water run for 5 min right after installing ( then release air from container, filter system) that will give you normal pressure again. Works good

    I was so excited when the Carbon Iron and Manganese filters arrived. After both filters were installed, I did not notice any change in my water. On the fourth day, the Iron and Manganese filter is already brown with city water flowing through it.

    These filters get the job done as advertised. Being on well water (with perhaps my pump sunk a bit deeper than it should be thereby picking up more silt than it should), I felt that it’d be a good idea to provide at least a minimum of protection to my appliances and fixtures throughout the house (washing machines, on demand water heaters, refrigerator water supply, etc.). This filter combination (coupled with a spin-down silt filter first in line) perform very nicely and provide peace-of-mind comfort that I’m doing my best to safeguard other items in which I’ve invested.

    Keep in mind, even though the instructions don’t mention it, you must flush the iron-manganese filter several times. Otherwise, it will ruin your GAC filter! This makes the entire filter-changing process quite cumbersome.

    We ran countless times to the toilet with buckets of dirty water until it was clear. Afterward, I had to install another 5-micron filter because the GAC was finished.

    The photos really show how bad it was—initially, dirt even came out of my tap. I bought several filters on sale, but after this experience, I will never do it again.

    I thought Waterdrop was a quality brand. We have a reverse osmosis device from them that we really like. But this one… OMG!

    By the way, I measured the water quality afterward with a TDS meter, and it increased from 400 to 550. Not good.
