  • This is the 3rd time this happens with these filters. After 2 to 6 months of regular household use, white flakes are coming out of the filter. These filters are supposed to last a couple of years. Their customer service replace me one of the filters and as soon as the replacement filter arrived the same problem developed. I called the again, and they were supposed to get this resolved but nothing happen. Looking for a different option now.

  • Easy to install and had same (possibly better) flow as GE original filter. There were no loud vibrations like other reviews claimed. There’s a definite difference in taste between the tap and the filtered water, but I noticed no real difference between the GE Original and this filter. If I had to guess, the water had a slightly different mouth feel (?) but it may have been in my head... it felt smoother than the other. Video shows fill rate of the new filter as well as sound level (more noise filling the cup than the filter itself). I also show a comparison of the water color - basically identical. Original filter was the left cup. Would definitely buy again and highly recommend! I’ll update if my opinion changes as I use it more.

  • I generally your place these once a month and they seem to filter my water well. I'm on well water so mostly what it takes out is rust and sediment. The actual design of the inside does look different than the pictures.

  • These filters WILL work as an XWFE water filter replacement, you just have to do an easy DIY workaround. According to the manual, if your fridge did not come with a water filter bypass, GE will mail you one for free. I called GE with my fridge model and serial number, and ~2 weeks later my Water filter bypass had arrived for free just as they said. You can install this in place of a water filter and never worry about them again, but since I still wanted filtered water I had to do a bit of a work around. Using a hair dryer, I heated up the sticker on the bypass part and carefully removed it. Took a couple of minutes and I was very careful as underneath is an RFID chip which tells the fridge a filter (or in this case a bypass) is present and allows it to dispense water. The sticker actually came off in 2 forms. The first was the top sticker and then I was able to remove the bottom sticker with the RFID chip. Again, be careful since you an easily rip the metal and destroy the chip, rendering the bypass component entirely. One I removed the sticker, I stuck it to a piece of heavy duty plastic the bypass plug came in and then stuck it to the top sticker I peeled off. Then I stuck the piece to the fridge where it would line up when installed properly. Next, I installed these XWF water filters and just like magic, I had myself filtered water at a fraction of the price of GEs filters. The filters themselves appear to work great! Water tastes good (can taste the difference) and the flow rate is good. Considering I bought this 3 pack for less than 1 GE rip off filter, I am thrilled! I will note that you can take the RFID sticker off any GE filter. The problem with this is after so many gallons or 6 months the filter will read as bad and your light will come on. There is no way to turn it off unless you get a new RFID filter/sticker. The bypass plug doesn’t have this issue as it disables this filter light/alarm. This product comes with stickers saying the month of install, so I put one on the filter and plan to change it out once it starts to clog and flow rate decreases or after ~6 months which is recommended by GE.

  • Not a direct fit for the LT500P. They don't seal correctly and I ended up with a refrigerator full of water.

  • I've purchased "generic" refrigerator water filters before and had mixed success. We used to do it all the time with a previous brand (Maytag?) but when we upgraded to the GE RPWF and tried to use generic filters, we had bad luck and they leaked out. I'm happy to say that a) this filter does NOT leak and b) it actually seems to filter the water! Tastes clean and crisp and at a fraction of the price. Very happy and would recommend.

  • Got it for the weight for a 5 day hike and the weight is not to bad. I would recommend it. 🙏🏼✝️

  • Firstly, the majority of the exterior of the heating version(C1H) is Gray, not Black. waterdropoutlet.com should change their info. The non heating one (C1S) is white. Also, the Heating version does NOT include a TDS display on the panel. I bought the heating version knowing this. Where does the backwash go? It goes back into the water tank that you fill from your tap. That’s why they say you must always dump the water that is on the bottom of that tank when you refill. I dump before it gets that minimum level. So the 3:1 may be “ideal” but practically, not so. That doesn’t matter to me, it may for you. Water your plants if it bothers you. I bought a second “clean water” tank. Each tank is 1L, so once it fills, I can have one in the refrigerator. There are some nice cylindrical glass pitchers in hat you can fill directly- just make sure the height is 9-3/4” or less. I attached a picture showing unit and extra 1L tank. The 78 deg is probably my “room temp” water. I did a test, I filled up two 16 oz glass bottles from the dispenser. After the second bottle filled, It took about 80 seconds until the pump turned off. (ie I had the clean tank full of 1L of water). It takes about 50 seconds to fill a 16 oz bottle. I have it next to my Phillips coffee system so I can fill that tank directly. One picture shows display. It now defaults to 16oz, the size of my bottles, but that is easy to change. Instructions for new filter could be more clear….it took a while to get filter installed, I had to look at the connection detail to figure it out, then push and rotate firmly- I was nervous about breaking, so really wanted to be sure I did it right. Don’t worry- the entire backwash process to get a new filter takes a while, and a bit confusing and time consuming, but hopefully you will not have to do this for another 10-12 months. Do not expect to clean up raw well water with this. If you have a well with a water softener, maybe you could filter the softened water with this. I will update when I test the heating feature, and will update the rating if I have problems.

  • We’ve had this installed for about a week. The water is not crystal clear when it comes out. You have to let it run for a little before drinking it.

  • I've been using this brand of Waterdrop WDF-F46 filter in my LG refrigerator for years with excellent results. I've never had an issue installing these . . . Never. Takes one minute. I ordered and received two filters and they do NOT fit. The nozzle design is different. In the photo the one at the top is correct. The bottom on with the H shape does not mate with the holder in the filter compartment. The company's video shows using a "special" tool to turn the inside of the filter holder to accept the new filter. I'm not risking it. There is a risk of breaking fragile plastic parts inside the filter holder. The old filter can be inserted and removed easily. Don't be tempted to push and force it on since a new filter sometimes need a little effort to insert it. This new design doesn't fit and apparently needs a mysterious "special" tool to align the internal parts inside of the holder. I'm processing a return and going to the local Big Box store for an expensive official part the fits. Fiddling with a special tool??? This is a needless design issue for something that needs to be no hassle installation taking one minute. Not acceptable. The new filter is marked " Qingdao Ecopure Filter Co, LTD Made in China. UPDATE: Purchased an official LG filter from Lowe's. Perfect fit. Took one minute to install. No "Special" tool needed. Worth the extra $10.

  • I recently went on a 2 day hiking trip and I'm really glad I didn't need this because it doesn't work. I'm sure the filter works fine but the bag, which is very large, won't connect to the tubing provided. The connector will click in to the connector on the bag how ever it's not the correct connector and doesn't fit deep enough to move the valve so it's useless. I'm extremely disappointed and very happy I didn't actually need to use this at all.

  • Decided to post this to all the samsung filters I've bought in the past. Took me 6months to fix my issue. Replacement part: Samsung DA97-08006D to fix the water filter head. The valves inside gets damaged by 3rd party filters. Symptoms: after switching out of a 3rd party water filter, I had intermittent slow flow, and I hear a hammering struggling sound from back of the fridge. I swap into a genuine filter and it did not resolve it because the valve is already broken. Diagnosis: Water filter head broken. There's two valves that are in the water filter head assembly. They look like a Phillips head. When using non-samsung genuine filters, these valves can be damaged and causes poor flow through the filter and resulting in low pressure for dispenser. To check, remove the water filter and try to dispense water. If it can provide strong pressure and no noise, this is your problem. Other poss diagnosis: Frozen water line above the freezer. This is slow flow or no flow whatsoever even if water filter is removed. To fix this, you can either thaw your fridge or syringe squirt some warm water into this hose. It's pretty long. There's a product you can buy for this but it's just some simple tubing with a syringe. Water inlet valve broken - all water to the machine would be decreased. So your ice maker and water dispenser would not be working. Water inlet valve is at the back of the fridge most of the time. Water dispenser trigger broken - when you depress the trigger, there's not even any sound like water trying to come out or any motor sound or diff humming sound. Requires taking apart the water dispenser at the front and replace the trigger. Solution: buy this water filter head only. Check with Samsung parts dot come to make sure it matches your fridge. This one replaced my RF28HMEDBSR/AA model. Original water filter head part number DA61-05525A. There's a video on YouTube that shows you how to take the whole assembly out and there's one particular video that shows you how to open up the housing. I did this all inside the fridge and only sprayed about 3L of water everywhere because I didn't shut off my water. As someone else commented. I only replaced the head piece using original tubing. The white tubing is the water from the house. Blue is going to the reservoir and then to your water dispenser. I had to do this 3x because I kept forgetting to put the red clip back on, or put the water filter tray back on, or a screw back on. Note, there's actually 3 clips on the underside of the housing which I couldn't reach the back one and broke the clip. Oh well. So from here on out, I'll never use 3rd party filters. The fix was only 65 dollars but it took a lot of research and the courage to open up the fridge to fix. DA97-8006D

  • So far so good. Water tastes really clean!! It’s going on about a month now with no issues. It was cloudy water at first for about a day but it cleared up. The tastes just as good if not better than most bottled water. *UPDATE* This product worked really great!! It’s been a year and I’m ordering another one!! The water tasted really good!! Some of the best water I’ve ever had from tap water! Update #2 I purchased the 1 Year lasting one. If I’m not mistaken I got one in the wrong package and it’s only for 6 months. The box it came in says 1 year. The product label says 6 months. Hopefully someone can help me get things right.

  • The connecting hose broke where it attaches to the water filter. The water pressure going into the filter was able to push the interior metal fitting out of the hose.

  • Installation was easy, includes multiple adapters to suit your sink, Filtered water tastes better vs tap water but cant attest to pH. Seems to not have much of a change. But over all still decent value. Overall would recommend.
