First impressions: This Waterdrop pitcher arrived well-packaged and feels very sturdy. The faucet feature is an excellent touch for using it directly from the fridge, especially for reducing the need to lift heavy bottles. I have not yet installed the included filter because I am in the process of relocating and currently have access to filtered water at home. I plan to update my review after several weeks of actual use with the filter installed. The unit itself is easy to set up and fits well in the fridge. Why it is getting 4 stars - I went to the waterdrop page to find the filters and stock up since they only last a month. They are 50 dollars for 4. That is 150 dollars a year. You would spend less buying bottled water at that rate. This is the biggest disappointment. I am used to filters that last 2 - 6 months and cost only 30 - 50 for the year. So, after my initial test, this will become a jug for dispensing water because I am not willing to spend 150 dollars on filters.

My well water is high in Iron. These filters catch that iron but leave a white powdery residue that started clogging up faucets and shower heads. I noticed the residue in my water boiler first. It floats to the top and the attaches to the sides of the glass requiring it to be cleaned. I since switched to a non coconut Original style carbon filter and the problem is gone. These filters are cheaper than others but they have this issue.

*unpaid review. Water drop filters are amazing. I have recently grown aware of gut imbalances in my body due to mineral imbalances in water and toxic additives/ph level issues in bottled water. I have asthma and I struggle with histamine intolerance. So I can never figure out what is triggering my symptoms of illness. ❌One day I looked over at the water filter & there was this green algae in the bottom portion of the water drop container. I washed it out thinking it would go away but I didn’t have any peace of mind about it. Then a few weeks later it happened again. ✅I emailed customer service and spoke to someone named Krystal, who’s awesome. She instructed me to clean the tank with dish soap, and to re-evaluate after a few days. If the issue wasn’t resolved then, then she would send me a new container. At that point, I informed her this was the SECOND time the green sludge had appeared. Instead of asking for dates and/or more photos, she immediately sent me a new unit and told me to update her on its progress. I decided to buy water test strips to feel at peace. Below are the results of a water sample from my tap water, great value water bottles from Walmart, and finally a sample from the NEW water drop water filtration system. I will continue to clean the system every other month and test the water. I am not sure if this issue wasn’t a result of user error when installing the replacement water filter for the machine or if the machine defected but I am a customer for life! Also I do not put my water in the fridge, it stays out on the counter at room temperature which may allow for more contaminants quicker. 👀I do wish the company provided water test strips or clearer instructions on when and how to clean the system. I think more confidence would be built with their product with clients if they were able to see for themselves how clean their water gets when it’s ran through water drops filtration system. The system is relatively easy to clean but the ability to know when it’s time to change the filter is unclear, as well as the cost 💲 for filters is a bit pricey. ✅The larger size is awesome, less refills than the skinnier or smaller water drop options.

Nice water filter that gives us the opportunity to drink clean water not to mention the stainless steel looks , it’s a perfect match to our kitchen sink

I don’t know about this filter. I decided to open it up. Tell me if it’s actually doing anything. Water does taste different after installing but not so sure about the plastic strands inside of the filter. ( check video I posted)

I’ve been eyeing a Berkey for a few years, but they don’t ship to California, so I was excited when I stumbled across the WaterDrop gravity flow system that’s basically the same thing. It’s a major bonus that it’s a few hundred dollars cheaper. There isn’t a sewer system where I live, and the ground water is terrible. I got a humidifier a few years ago, but have been unable to use it because after filling it with tap water, the mist coming out of it would smell like urine. I’ve been happily using my humidifier for the past few days and it smells like nothing. I also did the red dye test after it was assembled, and the water came out crystal clear. I’ve had no issues with leakage after assembly either. The reason I’m giving it 4/5 stars instead of 5/5 is for two reasons: 1) Before assembly and every month afterwards you’re suppose to prime/flush the filters. They supply you with a gasket that you’re supposed to attach to the filter and to a water faucet (I’ve included a picture of this next to my kitchen faucet). They state that the gasket will fit around most faucets, but unless your house was built in the 1990s or before, I’d guess there is at least a 50% chance it won’t fit due to the variety of sizes and shapes of modern faucets. I wish they had made one side of that gasket stretchier to fit over all fixtures. 2) While assembly wasn’t difficult, attaching the faucet wasn’t exactly easy either. They do provide you with a wrench, which is a bonus, but because the walls of the WaterDrop are rounded you can only tighten the bolt 1/8 of a turn at a time. It probably took me 15 minutes to attach it. If you don’t own a bendy ratchet it takes forever to attach the faucet and get it tight. They also recommend disassembling the whole unit every month to clean it. There is no way a normal person will want to remove that faucet every month and reattach it. Overall a great system, I would definitely recommend it.

I’ve been wanting to get one of these for quite some time now and was pretty excited when I found it as an option on my vine account.. Our water quality is absolutely terrible, it leaves black streaks in all of our toilets, showers, and sinks.. Even when we clean them, it only takes a few days for the stains to come back. I know my towns water pipes are pretty old and outdated so I’m sure a lot of our problems come from excess sediments and other junk in the water. I’m really hoping this will help with that issue. Anyways, as far as the product goes, the quality of it seems to be very well made. The package comes with everything you need to get the job done other than plumbing tools (it does include the sediment filter wrench) and extra piping depending on how you plan to set yours up. It also includes a fairly long flexible drain tube for when that time comes. I’m pretty stoked about getting this thing setup, this is just the first part of the process, eventually I’d like to add in a 3 stage whole house filtration system behind but that’ll be later on, for now we’ll see what this guy can do!

I am absolutely blown away by this filter. The first photo shows the PPM reading from my tap water. The second photo shows the PPM reading after using the filter. It's "0" folks! Water was clear (even with the first pitcher which I discarded according to the instructions). Drank water out of the second pitcher, it was crystal clear and tasted great. So far, it gets a 5 star rating from me. I will try to update to let you know how long the filter is lasting me but as for now, I highly recommend this product.

May be cheaper than OEM but when you open it up the "glue" that holds the fluted filter to the sides has failed. Thus the filter is useless as a replacement. I guess you get what you pay for, so if you take the risk be aware that so far I have a 50% failure rate.

WARNING Seller lies about the amount of chlorine removed. Using professional chlorine residual testing tool, I tested that the filter removed around 77% of the chlorine, unlike the 90+% that the company claims. I would give an excellent review otherwise, considering 1: the convenience of not waiting for gravity to filter water in a typical pitcher style filter 2: the longevity 3: the versatility/compatibility. 4: the style/look The main reason I got the filter was to remove the vast majority of chlorine for feeding my plants, and while it technically still does the job, it’s not nearly as good at removing the chlorine as it claims. Additionally, it’s hard to trust the integrity of the filters claims to remove other contaminants (like lead) because they lied about chlorine, and the filter is supposed to add some alkaline matter like good minerals and/or electrolytes, so the ppm won’t go close to zero. Basically I can’t tell if the amount of lead they claim to remove is actually accurate neither because I can’t measure it.

Ordered based on the excellent average ratings and stellar reviews but no matter how many gallons of water I run through, the water quality consistently equals my tap water quality at 300-320 ppm range which is marginally acceptable = average tap water quality. While I was not expecting my reverse osmosis quality at 10-20 ppm, I was hoping for a general range of 50-200. Considering returning at this point.

We just moved into a new home and are now on well water. The water is hard with a strong iron taste. Not wanting to spend much, I figured I'd give one of these a try. It fits perfectly in our fridge (Kenmore model 795.79302.900). I was pleasantly surprised to find an improvement in taste. (I blind tested it and the water run through the filter tasted noticeably better.) I would be surprised if it does much for the safety of water, but I can confidently say it improved taste. Pros: Low Price Improves Taste Easy install Cons: Needs to be replaced every 6 months (not too bad, I'd say!)

It doesn’t filter anything I tested the water coming out of the filter and it’s a dirty as the faucet… my other filter from another brand the water read 0.00 this one read 306 … I threw the box away so I can’t return it it … But waterdropoutlet.com should ban this brand I want my money back

I had this installed by Metro Mechanical Services in Platte City MO, using a sediment tap and a bypass. Very professional! Water tastes and smells better.

I bought this for my Whirlpool fridgethat I have had for about 6 months, and the “order filter” light came on. The EveryDrop Filter 4 was around $49 everywhere I looked, while I bought this one for $16! I could have saved more money buying the multipack, but wanted to make sure this was quality first. I can’t speak to the longevity of this yet, but the taste of my water (after running about 10 cups first to wash out the filter) is fantastic! -Taste very neutral, you know..like clean water. -Costs a third of the name brand -Perfect alternative for the Filter 4 I didn’t buy the Waterdrop “plus” filter for a couple more bucks, only because I didn’t see that product on their official website which made me not trust it. This however is a British company, and yes it’s made in China which some folks don’t like, but it takes great, costs a fraction, and was a snap to install. Recommended!
